Couples Therapy Intensives
Your relationship matters—but so does your time
A focused, goals-driven couples counseling experience for couples needing more clarity and understanding—without waiting weeks to get there.
You don’t yell. You don’t slam doors- but something still feels off.
You don’t know exactly what is happening, but you notice the distance between the two of you.
Maybe there is a past betrayal that you never really talked about. Maybe you and your partner often get along but there is a specific issue that feels unresolved.
You want a couples therapist insight and perspective.
What is a Couples Therapy Intensive?
A couples intensive is a private, extended form of therapy— typically 1-2 days to give you and your partner uninterrupted time to focus on your marriage without the distractions. Intensives give you the time and space to work on communication and reconnection.
Intensives allow you to have:
A trained and dedicated couples therapist supporting you all day.
Additional time to process old hurts.
Time to practice healthy communication skills.
This is for you if…
You are looking for a one-time therapy experience with a couple’s therapist without the commitment to ongoing therapy.
You need help working through an ongoing issue.
What to Expect from a Couples Intensive
Our work is intentional and grounded in the interventions of Emotionally Focused Therapy ( EFT) and Relational Life Therapy ( RLT).
Each intensive includes:
Time to assess and share your strengths, struggles and relationship goals.
I’ll provide direct, compassionate feedback on how to shift criticism to requests and speaking from a place of deeper emotion and vulnerability.
One Day Intensive for gaining clarity and understanding of why you get stuck in conflict.
Two Day Intensive for deeper exploration, healing and practicing skills.
You’ll be given resources and tools to use after your intensive.
A post-intensive action plan

Intensives are good fits for couple willing and open to making changes with themselves and their relationship. Couples who are open to the process report finding the therapy valuable and beneficial to their marriage.
Intensives is not a good fit if there is:
Serious untreated mental health issues
If there is an active affair
On-going physical abuse or fear of physical abuse
If one Partner does not want to work on the relationship
-
We will create a post-intensive action plan which may include attending a post-intensive session(s) to maintain progress. Other couples may be referred to a clinician for continued support.
-

Yes, most of my experience is working with same-sex couples and couples with at least one partner openly identifying as a trans person. I am as a cis-gendered person in a heterosexual relationship. but it’s my deep morale and spiritual belief that all people are deserving of love and care.
